Comancheros

Men of Mexican-Indian origin who acted as intermediaries between the Comanche Indians and whites. Said to be descendants of the ciboleros, or Mexican/Indian buffalo hunter who killed, jerked, and sold meat. The Comancheros developed trading relationships with all parties in old Mexico. The whites would sell to the Comanche and the Comanche to the whites, through the Comancheros. Comancheros were also used to broker the release of white captives from the Comanche.
